Questions about the work of the website, user accounts, and registration

Problems with the account:

-where did my account disappear?

-how can I access my old account?

-books have disappeared from my Library!

-I have no access to the purchased book(s) in my account!

The solution to the problem:

You need to sing out first by pressing the button Sing out. After you need to sign in using the social network that you used for registration on our platform (now you are signed in using another social network). Our experience suggests that in 99,5% of cases it helps to solve the problem.

Explanation:

Registration and authorization on our website is done with the help of social networks, which makes our users feel safer and helps them communicate. You always need to use the same social network to sign into Litnet. This means that when you are signing in you always need to choose the icon of the right social network that you used for signing up.

If books in your library disappeared or you lost your access to the purchased books, this can mean only the next: you occasionally created two user accounts. Sometimes users can create an account with the help of one of the social networks, and forget about it. Later, they can sign into Litnet using another social network and not paying attention to it. This can happen when you use different devices for visiting the website.

How to change my username on Litnet?

Click on “Add a novel” or “Add a short story” in your personal cabinet. You will see a window that lets you choose a pseudonym, which you can use to change your username. You don’t have to add a novel or a short story after your new username is saved.

Attention! Please don’t use all capital letters in your username.

I enter my e-mail, but the system says that it is already being used

Solution to the problem:

Press the “Sign out” button.

After, press “Sign in” button.

Sign in using the social network that you used for creating your account. Our database took your email from your social network account.

Explanation:

Very likely you have already signed up at Litnet using another social network and last time you used this email (or someone else has used your email to sign up on Litnet, which is very unlikely). Our experience says us that in 99.5% of cases this will help you to sing into your old account.

How to register on Litnet if I don’t have a social network account?

You can register with your phone number pressing the link “Sign up with a phone number” in the registration window. You will see a window where you have to fill obligatory fields. Enter your phone number and press the button “Next”. You will receive a text message with a verification code on your phone number. You need to enter the code to the corresponding field.

Profile picture doesn’t change

The solution to the problem:

You have to use a picture with a resolution of 160x160 pixels, not more or less. A picture that has a different resolution (for example, 160x148 or 150x150) can’t be used.

The profile picture hasn’t changed, although it says “Data has been changed successfully”.

In fact, the picture has been changed, but you still see the old profile picture because it is saved in the cash of your browser. Try to reload the page several times using the button F5 or Ctrl+F5. You can also try to reload your computer. Or try to open your page using another device. In any case, the best way out here is not to worry, as other people most likely see a new profile picture on your page.

Complaints of forbidden contents, plagiarism, adult books without qualification “18+”

Complaints of such violations have to be submitted only through the “Complaint” button, which is placed on the right on all pages of the book reader.  After clicking on the button in the drop-down list, select the type of problem.

Why I don’t have access to books, I see the message “The author has limited access”

Access to books for adults is available only to users whose age on the site is registered as “over 18 years old”. Your age is automatically taken from the social network when you register. Most likely, you are either younger or your age has been automatically taken as “0” years. This could happen if your age in the social network is not specified or hidden, or if the social network regarded your account as fake (created by the bot) and did not share your age with our website at the time of registration. If your account is real, then you either created it on the social network quite recently, or recently put your age there, or you hid it, or have just registered on our site. If your social network account is real and your age is there, then over time the social network will take your age info to Litnet, and it will automatically be added to your profile on the site. Even now you can read books, comment, leave a blog post. In general, all the functions of the platform are available to you.

Questions about paying for a subscription or complete books

The platform is an intermediary between readers and writers that is collecting money for the writers and keeping a small percentage for the provision of its services.

Attention! The platform doesn’t receive or store information about your payment details, bank card numbers, etc. Entering any such data is carried out by the buyer on the secure page of the payment system, but not on our site.

The site has two categories of paid books:

Incomplete books for subscription

Paid finished books.

Paid subscription means that you have paid access to the still unfinished text. As far as the author of finishes new chapters, you automatically get access to them. If the subscription book is finished and goes into the category of paid finished books, you will also have access to it.

Attention! Access to the paid book receives not a physical person, but the account from which the purchase was completed. If you visit the platform without signing in or signing into a different account (through another social network), then you will not have the access to the purchased book.

I received a code after the payment.  Where do I need to enter it now?

The payment code is sent to you not by our site, but by a payment system connected to the site. The site has no influence or relation to this process. This means that you need to enter the code directly on the payment page. Payment is completed only after entering this code and clicking on the "pay" button, then your account gets access to the book. If you have already left the payment page, it means that the payment did not take place and you have nowhere to enter the code. In this case, you need to start the payment process again, wait for a new code and enter it on the payment page.

The payment was successful, but I have no access to the book!

The solution to the problem.

Use the feedback form, choose the subject “Complaints, suggestions and problems with payment”, send us a copy/screenshot of a text message or e-mail, which is automatically sent to you by the payment system in case of a successful payment. The payment code is always indicated in these e-mails or text messages, and with the help of this code, we will be able to make a complaint to the payment system.

Explanation:

According to our experience, in 95% of cases, the inability to access the book after payment means that the payment was not successful, and the money from your account/wallet was not withdrawn. Why?

-You did not enter the payment code sent to you (or maybe it did not reach your phone or email);

-An error occurred within the payment system (you could see it on the payment page);

-There are not enough funds in your account / wallet.

- In the case of payment with a bank card, the payment could be blocked for some reason by your bank. It often happens that the internet payments with a bank card are disabled by the bank.

Unfortunately, the platform cannot affect this process. We will definitely help you deal with the problem if you send us a copy of the text message or e-mail confirming successful payment.

I have a coupon that gives me free access to a paid book; where do I put it?

There’s a field for coupons in the lower part of the window that opens once you click “buy.”

I have paid for accessing a book, but it’s not complete!

This means that you haven’t paid for a complete book, but a subscription. That is, its text is being written by the author right now. This way you have automatic access to all the new parts and chapters of the book once the author publishes them. Our automatic notifications let you know once new parts longer than 20 thousand characters appear. And shorter parts are easy to track in your library.

I have bought a book, but I can’t download it as a file, why?

This means that the author has prohibited the download of the book as a file, making it available only through the web. This is the author's choice and one we cannot influence. In such cases, the green “Buy” button always has a warning “Website access only.” This means you have the opportunity to choose whether to pay for a book which is only available through the web or not.

It takes the author too long to publish new parts of the book

You can complain about the author’s dishonesty by clicking on the subscription complaint button, which is located on the right side of all the subscription books pages. According to the contract that the commercial author sign with the site, they are obliged to add at least 40 thousand characters per month.

I’m not receiving notifications about book updates

Automatic notifications pop up only if the text of the book increases by more than 20 thousand characters. You can follow shorter updates in your library.
