Ivy and ferns grow through the crevices of the old winding stone path, which lead directly to the colossal structure that glistens in the light of the setting sun. The mansion towers proudly behind creaky iron gates, flanked by rows of skeletal trees crowned in crimson, swaying gently to the chilly late autumn, early winter wind. At its threshold stands a delicate marble fountain, soft gurgling of the clear water is melodic as it resonates in the surrounding silence.
A man with rich midnight black hair that is wind tousled and messy in a rugged finger-run through kind of way. He has strong arched brows and deep and catastrophic, stormy oak brown eyes. Dressed in a crisp white shirt and dark suit pants, this man stands at the highest window of the mansion, his hands linked behind his back as he looks down at the four floors fountain below him.
A knock on the oak wood door behind him sounds the arrival of his subordinate, the news he's been waiting for the entire day has finally come.
"Boss, Katherine's awake," He informs him, closing the door to the study behind him. "Do we engage her sir?"
Turning away from the window to face his friend, the man smiles as he replies, "I'll head towards her shortly. Make sure she doesn't escape."
"Yes, sir," His subordinate acknowledges, leaving the study with his orders.
Breathing out heavily once the door is closed once more, the man relaxes his posture as he sits down on his large leather chair behind his polished mahogany desk, leaning down to open one of the many drawers, he produces a black, squared ring box and tucks it into the pocket of his suit pants.
