Chapter 1: The Awakening of Destiny

Kael Ashar was a young boy. At first glance, he seemed ordinary, but in their world, things were different. Some animals had the ability to transform into human form and remain in it as long as they wished. But if they stayed human for too long, they could forget how to return to their animal form. One of those animals was Kael — a young lion. He had a mother, Selaira, and a father, Marlen. Kael always wanted to live among humans, and he told his parents about it openly. But their answer was always the same: “No.” One night, Kael decided to run away. He transformed into a human, ran onto the road — and suddenly, a car hit him. The driver saw the child and rushed him to the hospital. After treatment, Kael claimed he had no family, so his parents wouldn’t come looking for him. He was sent to an orphanage, and later adopted by Arlen Ashar and his wife, Nira Ashar. They became his foster parents. When Kael turned 13, he grew tired of ordinary school life. One day, he stumbled upon a strange website about the School of Beasts. He showed it to his parents, but kept silent about the fact that this school was far from ordinary. “Mom, Dad, can I give it a try?” he asked. “If you want to, of course,” Arlen replied. Kael packed his things, and they left together. The school turned out to be large and beautiful, surrounded by nature. At the entrance, a man in a dark cloak was already waiting for them — Teacher Master Veylor. “Welcome,” he said. “Let’s go to my office.” After a short conversation with Kael’s parents, Master Veylor gently nodded: “Please, leave us. I want to speak with the boy alone.” When the door closed, the teacher looked at Kael. “So… who are you, boy?” Kael stared straight into the teacher’s eyes and quietly answered: “A lion.” Veylor raised an eyebrow in surprise. “A lion? Impressive. The second strongest beast in the School… And I am an eagle.” He smiled, and a dialogue began between them. Afterwards, Kael escorted his parents to the exit, waved goodbye, and headed to the main building. He was to meet the headmaster, Elruin, to receive the key to his room. He knocked. A rough, deep voice came from inside: “Enter.” Kael stepped in — and froze. The room was huge: tall, wide, like an ancient hall. And before him stood… a real dragon. He immediately understood: this was the strongest being in the school. The headmaster silently handed him a key and said: “You are dismissed.” Kael bowed and left. On his way to the dormitory, he accidentally bumped shoulders with the leader of a wolf pack. They immediately lashed out at him: “Hey, you newbie! Don’t you watch where you’re going?!” one of them barked. Kael felt anger boiling inside him. His eyes turned yellow, his fists clenched. He stepped forward, ready to strike… but at that moment, Veylor intervened and separated them. “Enough. Not on the first day,” he said firmly. Kael moved on. Along the way, he heard a voice: “You’re new? What’s your totem? Why are you walking alone?” It was Mira Talin, a girl with a cold gaze and a strange smile. She was a snake. Her questions annoyed Kael, but he didn’t answer. Finally, he reached his room, unpacked his things, and lay down to rest. But the rest didn’t last long: he was summoned to his first class — Transformation. He arrived. All the students were in human form. Today, each of them had to transform for the first time in front of the class. Even Headmaster Elruin came to watch. In human form, he was a tall man with silver eyes. When Kael’s turn came, he froze. He hadn’t transformed in a long time… and didn’t know how to begin. The teacher approached and silently handed him a chain. As soon as Kael put it on, his eyes turned yellow again, his fangs grew, and… he transformed. The classroom fell silent. He roared. Loud. Powerful. The students’ eyes widened. Even the headmaster… smiled.
