I was born in Odessa, Ukraine, in the early 1980s. My parents, both of whom
were born and raised in Odessa, were overjoyed to have a son. They named me
Igor, after my grandfather. Growing up in Odessa was an adventure. The city was
a melting pot of cultures, with influences from Russia, Ukraine, and many other
parts of the world. My parents spoke Russian at home, but I also heard Ukrainian
and other languages on the streets. As a child, I was curious about everything. I
loved exploring the city and discovering new things. My parents encouraged my
curiosity and allowed me to pursue my interests. They enrolled me in music
lessons when I showed an interest in playing the piano and guitar, and they let
me explore my love of science by taking me to the local science museum.
School was also an important part of my life. I attended a local school and made
many friends. I was a good student and enjoyed learning new things. I also loved
participating in extracurricular activities, such as sports and music. Looking back
on my childhood, I realize how fortunate I was to grow up in Odessa. The city's
rich culture and diversity had a profound impact on me and shaped who I am
today. It was an exciting and formative time in my life, and I will always cherish
those memories.
